Drum Werks XVII captures some of our favorite grooves and ones that have been requested from customers for years.
While we didn't record every famous rock groove out there, we went with ones that are easily recognizable and useful for a wide array of rock projects.
So, we set out to capture the essence and spirit of these grooves, not necessarily note-for-note renditions.
And, we are pleased with what we can offer you and your music with this powerful set of drum loops that will sit beautifully in any rock mix, be it acoustic or electric.
This collection will inspire new fresh music from time-tested rock grooves! A must-have for anyone with Drum Werks XV or Drum Werks XVI!
The third installment of the L.A. Rock Essentials Sessions - this time with a homage to the great signature grooves of the bands that made rock what it is: powerful, unrelenting, and timeless. This is the drum loop library to own if you're after the time-tested groove foundations of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Van Halen, and more. Drum Werks XVII brings your songwriting a ready-to-eat buffet of classic rock grooves.
Compatible with both Drum Werks XV and XVI, Drum Werks XVII takes it over the top with the grooves inspired from some of rock's most recognizable and sought-after grooves. We emulated the grooves styles of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Hendrix, ZZ Top, Toto, and Van Halen to give you some of rock's most identifiable grooves.
Each Groove Set includes the vital elements for drag and drop song construction (intro fills, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge loops as well as endings). For many songs, we've also included the full source takes to create many more loop variations. This powerful collection was created to capture the spirit and essential signature licks of the songs - not note-for-note or lick-for-lick renditions. While you can certainly create your own cover versions of the featured songs, we want you to use these grooves to create new musical works, ones inspired by the greats but hopefully in new and wonderfully unique directions.
With a consistent drum sound (and compatible with any disc from the L.A. Rock Essentials Series) and an increased focus on longer loops (four and eight bars), you get the realism your music deserves and the signature grooves behind some of rock's most enduring classic tracks.
Complete groove folders include grooves, groove variations, and fills. Single shots and multi-velocity drum samples available as a download with purchase.
Available in 16-bit, 24-bit ACIDized WAV, APPLE LOOPS, and REX2 loop formats.

Some kind words by current Drum Werks Volume XVII users:
"I ordered and now got 3 CD's from Beta Monkey, and they are great. I have other drum loops that sound fine, but are too busy or complex for most songs. Telling Chris at Beta Monkey what I needed, I got three CD's with mainly simple straight ahead rock, pop, alternative rhythms." -- Tom (Denmark)
"The grooves are great. I am a guitar player who started out as a drummer so I find the loops very creative and they take me out of my usual comfort zone for recording. Just tonight I cooked a little demo of an idea for the band. It all started with 3 or 4 of the files off one of the discs. Great stuff... and this frees me from having to play the drum tracks on the awful sound Yamaha DTXpress Kit I bought." -- Jeff (Canada)
"Chris, Just let you know, I have been a studio drummer for 30+ years in St. Louis , MO, and I have never heard a clear sound like this before. The DW set (on Drum Werks I ) sounds better than the 1975 Rogers set I play on. Your DW set blows it away... cool." -- Donald Brown (USA)
