Why Double
Bass Mania V?
You will not find anything like this anywhere: the only metal drum loop disc devoted exclusively to doom metal and related doom metal styles.
This disc has been a long time in coming and heavily requested. It is also a genre of metal drumming that no other loop company would touch. Maybe they lack the sensibility or fortitude for this extreme form of metal or maybe it is not commercial enough. We could care less if it sells. Tt is a style that needs a songwriting resource, just like every other style gets with loop and sample collections.
And, to be honest, we understandable why this genre has never been touched. It is demanding in ways unlike any other metal (or musical, for that matter) genre. It is infinitely more difficult to play at 25 bpm with a pounding pulse than to blast out insanely fast double bass runs (although we all love that too).
So, this disc represented a major challenge in A) learning the ins and outs of the genre and B) categorizing the stylistic nuances of the grooves and the feels necessary to pull off anything in the doom realm.
It took a long time, and everyone has been extremely patient as we cleared a solid stretch of recording time to get this doom metal project done. We hope this satisfies the primal urges and spiritual torment that spawns the doom that holds a distinct place in the world of metal music.
We usually say to enjoy the grooves in closing our Skinny section, but we are not sure if simple enjoyment will do. These metal drum loops and the music that will ultimately come of them goes a bit deeper than that.
